The Trump administration has threatened to apply a 20% tariff on CanadianTrump softwood lumber exports to the United States alleging that some Canadian logging companies…receive subsidies as high as 24.12%. If such a tariff comes into play, it would make Canadian softwood exports less competitive in the U.S., hurting the bottom lines of Canadian lumber producers.
